Shaker Inspired Chairs, Seats and Stools
Morrison's Chair Caning is proud to offer a wide selection of fine quality Shaker inspired chairs, seats and stools! Our Shaker-style chairs, seats and stools are simple in design, reflecting a sense of practicality and timelessness.
The wooden frames are Shaker-inspired and the seats are woven, using traditional one inch cotton Shaker tape, based on traditional Shaker patterns. All items are shipped fully assembled. We only use fine quality hardwoods, primarily Oak and Ash. We use a variety of finishes, as listed in the Wood Finishes section.
All sizes are approximate.
Materials Used by Morison’s Chair Caning
Most of these items can be ordered with your choice of shaker tape colors.
The shaker tape used for the seats is 1" wide, and is available in Beige, Black, Dark Blue, Butternut Brown, Dark Green, Gray, Steel Gray, Lavender, Maroon, Natural (off-white), our exclusive Pink, Raffia, Rust, Sage, and Scarlet. We also offer a varying selection of shaker tape that is only available in limited quantities.
A seat comes in your choice of either a single color or two colors. Please see the Tape Color Chart for examples of the different colors and materials available.
One shaker tape, the Flamestitch design, is available only in the 7/8" width.
Shaker tape is also available in a 5/8" width for all of the colors listed; except Butternut Brown, Lavender, and Pink, which are only available in 1" tape. Three striped shaker tapes are available in 5/8" width only. These are: Cran-Beige-Black; Sage-Russet-Red; and Brown-Black-Sage. Samples of these are also shown in the Tape Color Chart section below.
All of the prices listed in the catalog are for 1" wide shaker tape. Please contact us for pricing on the 5/8" or 7/8" tape.

Since each of our items is made-to-order, we can accept returns only in those cases where an item was defective or damaged in shipment. Thank you for your assistance in helping us to control our expenses and in keeping down the prices we charge.
